Omar Mahmood

Omar is a medical student at the Wayne State University School of Medicine and works professionally as a medical interpreter in Arabic, Spanish, and Hindustani in the Henry Ford Health System. He has a minor in Translation from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Rayyan Khan
Undergraduate Lead, French Editor

Rayyan is an alum of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, having majored in Biomolecular Science with a minor in French and Francophone Studies. He leads the student organization for YNF in partnering with student groups and other organizations to host workshops and expand YNF.

Jawad Bouhamdan

Jawad Bouhamdan is a graduating medical student at the Wayne State University School of Medicine pursuing Internal Medicine. He is passionate about working with minority communities to improve health outcomes, especially within the Arab and Muslim-American communities.

Alexander is a graduate student studying International Security & Development at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. He has a bachelor's degree in Global Studies and Slavic Studies from Wayne State University where he specialized in the Polish language.

Jeremiah Jean

​
Jeremiah is a 5th year pharmacy student at the University of Michigan. He is passionate about bridging gaps between vulnerable patient populations, especially at the point of care. He started a series of educational sessions at the UM College of Pharmacy in collaboration with WSU SOM and translators from Michigan Medicine in order to teach pharmacy students basic terminology to help patients who speak Arabic and/or Chinese.

Zechariah Jean is a medical student at WSU SOM with a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies with a Concentration in Chinese. He is passionate about advocating for immigrants in the healthcare community. He believes in equipping providers with the tools to bridge linguistic and cultural barriers so as to provide equitable care.

Sara Soliman is a pharmacist from Egypt (B. Pharm., Cairo University) and is passionate about helping non-native speakers with Arabic as much as she can.

Nick Nedzesky is a Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology major at the University of Michigan. He is minoring in German Studies and is passionate about using German to make healthcare more accessible.
